The fine print

Terms and conditions.

These terms apply to every estimate, consultation, quotation and order with Viewsetter. They are written to be read, and nothing in them takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Last updated 1 October 2026.

The terms

1. Who we are
In these terms, “Viewsetter”, “we” and “us” means Viewsetter [legal entity name and ABN to be added], of Turrella, NSW. “You” means the person who requests an estimate, books a consultation or places an order.
2. Online estimates
A figure shown in our online builder is an approximate estimate based on the information you give us. It is not a quotation or an offer, and it may change once your windows have been measured.
3. Quotations
A quotation is our offer to supply, and where stated install, the items described in it, at the prices shown, for the period of validity shown on it. Prices are in Australian dollars. If we are registered for GST, the quotation shows it. Quotations for installed orders are based on our own measurements; quotations for delivered orders are based on the measurements you provide.
4. Consultations
An in-home measure and consultation is available anywhere in our Sydney service area. Depending on your postcode, a consultation fee of $100 to $250 may apply; the builder tells you the amount, if any, before you book. The fee is paid by bank transfer against the invoice we email you, and your appointment is confirmed once it is received. The fee is credited in full against an order you place with us following that consultation. You may reschedule once at no charge by giving us at least 24 hours’ notice. The fee is not refundable if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or are not available at the agreed time. If we cancel or cannot attend and you do not wish to reschedule, we will refund the fee in full.
5. Accepting a quotation
You accept a quotation by confirming in writing, by email is fine, and paying the deposit. A contract is formed when we receive both. For installed orders, a deposit of 50% of the quoted price is payable on acceptance, and the balance is payable on the day of installation, on completion. For delivered (product-only) orders, the full price is payable before production begins. Payment is by bank transfer to the account shown on our invoice.
6. Changes and cancellation
You may change or cancel an order free of charge within 24 hours of paying, and we will refund anything you have paid. After 24 hours, production begins: because every item is made to measure for your home, an order cannot then be cancelled or returned for a change of mind. If you ask us to stop work after that point, you remain liable for goods already made or ordered for you and for work already done, less any amount we can reasonably recover. This does not affect your rights if goods are faulty.
7. Measurements
For installed orders, we take the measurements and we are responsible for the fit. For delivered orders, we make each item to the measurements you provide, and you are responsible for their accuracy. Goods made correctly to the measurements you supplied are not faulty because those measurements were wrong. We are always happy to talk through a measurement before you order.
8. Delivery and installation dates
Production, delivery and installation dates are estimates, and we will confirm your installation date with you. We will keep you informed of any delay. Delivery charges for delivered orders are set out in your quotation.
9. Your home on installation day
Please make sure we have safe, clear access to each window, that furniture and fragile items are moved clear, that a power point is available where we are installing motorised items, and that you tell us of any known hazards, including concealed services or materials that may contain asbestos. We fix into suitable structure and take care in your home, but drilling and fixing can leave minor marks, and painting or patching is not included unless your quotation says so.
10. Site assessment and additional charges
Before and during installation we assess the site for safety. If that assessment identifies a hazard or access requirement that was not allowed for in your quotation, such as work at height needing extension ladders, a platform or scaffolding, drilling into concrete, steel, tile or masonry, concealed pipes or cabling, materials that may contain asbestos, or restricted access, additional charges may apply. We will explain any additional charge and obtain your agreement in writing before that work goes ahead. If you do not agree, we can reschedule, or you may remove the affected items from your order and we will refund anything you have paid for them. We will not drill or cut any material we suspect contains asbestos.
11. Ownership and risk
Goods remain our property until they are paid for in full. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to your address or, for installed orders, on installation.
12. Warranty and your consumer rights
Blinds and curtains carry the manufacturer's five-year warranty, and we add two more years on every part except the fabric; shutters carry ten years. The terms are on our warranty page. That warranty is given in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
13. Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.
14. Privacy, refunds and complaints
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy. Our refunds and returns policy and our complaints process explain what happens if something is not right.
15. General
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales. If any part of them is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one in force when you accepted your quotation.

The short version.

You see the price before you commit, you get 24 hours to change your mind after paying, and we put right anything we got wrong.
